I found a UL Shakespeare spinning reel (Agility) in my spares, so I bought a cheap Shakespeare UL rod (micro series) to hang it under.
The local lake isn't in very good shape (too thick to drink - too thin to plow), but I had to give it a try.
1/64 oz trout magnet jig under a trout magnet float results:

I can see fun ahead when fishing conditions improve!

Congrats. At this time of year it’s just nice to catch anything for us northerners. We’re like addicts who haven’t been able to score.
