Fastyacht, that is a bruiser. Those little bass will hit anything. I had one about that size hit a Humpback Mule plug several years ago. The fish was considerably smaller than the plug. He couldn't even get his mouth around the treble hook, but managed to hook himself on one of the points.

Caught a smaller one yesterday. I downsized my spiders to size 18 and targeted the smaller ones . It’s harder to catch a micro on the fly than it is the bigger ones . I want to figure out an easy tie dry for them . Gillchaser

I don’t look at it as any type of competition, just sharing my fishing experience as one who catches tiny brookies from a mountain stream would . Any fish that takes my fly , especially one I’ve tied, Is fun to catch to me . Gillchaser
