Nice fish for that rod, actually for any rod. I love that series of rod. I've caught 20-inch trout on both the 1 wt and the 00 wt. Just make sure your tippet is strong enough and you're in good shape.

Seeing those fish caught on a 1wt makes me wonder why I even own 4 & 5wt rods.
Those are some nice fish.

The test was magnificent, especially the fish, nothing wrong with UltaLights.

Thanks for the generous replies everyone. Those were all caught over 5 years ago. I hadn't fished in that time due to my beloved wife becoming ill with pancreatic cancer. She passed in June of 2014. I have just begun to fish again and hope to have more to contribute to this wonderful board. Regards, Jim

Sorry for your loss Jim, it hits home for me, I have not done much fishing due to my wife having stage 4 cancer that metastasized to her bones. So far we are fortunate to have almost got her to remission. All done without chemo. I feel for you brother.

The TXL/TXL-F is an amazing series of rods that Sage may never surpass. They certainly fell short with the Little one. It's nice.... but its no TXL.

I agree, the newer ONE series is heavy and clunky compared to the TXL/TXL-F rods.
Have the 0wt, 1wt and 2wt in the TXL-F series.
