Good morning guys, I'm sorry for the distorted English ..... I used google translator .... I want to know what is considered a short distance (distance in meters) average distance (distance in meters) and a long distance in meters)..... EX: - short distance: up to 10 meters - medium distance: 10 to 20 meters - long distance: over 20 meters only with ultralight .......

Gabriel,
We should keep two things in mind. To begin with, most forum members here relate to inches, feet and yards much more than to meters. One foot (1’) = 30 centimeters.
Also, what is a short, medium, or long distance to cast depends on one’s personal experience and where and how he fishes. So it’s relatively subjective.
For me, any cast under 25 feet (7.5 meters) is short, from 25 to 40 feet (12 meters) is medium, and anything over 40 feet is long for ultralight fly fishing. To me, line control is usually more important than distance. I also usually fish with two flies, one on the end of the leader and another on a dropper, so tight loops (which are desirable for longer casts) are an invitation to disaster.

I would agree with PampasPete on the distances (especially with 3 weight). If using a 1-2 weight, the distances would probably be somewhat shorter.

I agree too with Pampas Pete, although those are my distances for other than ultra lite too. Currently I am not fishing a rod over 7.5 ft.
