I actually studied Zen at length in my 20s, not just the pop version either. However, if you know anything at all about Zen practice, you know that it is never pretentious. So, I combined the Coneheads on Saturnight Live with the Zen koan (those funny riddles the Masters like so well) and the rest is history. Don

Welcome Charlie to UL fly fishers, we're glad you're here! Please tell us about yourself: where you like to fish , what gear you use, and so on.

Mine is a combination of my home State & my love of float tubing which, unfortunately, is done due to some pretty bad knees. Not crippled, but grew tired of the misery after a day of "kicking". Mike

Dazhan - The first part Daz comes from my first name Darrell. In Australia we tend to "nickname" certain peoples name. Eg: Darrell, or Darren becomes Daz or Dazza. Gary becomes Gaz or Gazza. Barry becomes Baz or Bazza & so on. The same can be done for some female names. Generally it's only friends that use the nicknames.
The second part Han is part of my last name.

Was showing some other backpackers how to tie knots on the Appalachian Trail when someone asked, “Do you have a trail name yet?” I answered “no.” And they said “You do now.”
