When I use tippet it's 6x, but I just use 4lb test clear blue Stren for 'gills & 6 or 8 lb for bass. Bluegill & bass aren't leader shy. Mikey

Sorry to revive an old thread but no point in reinventing the wheel. Add me to the 4lb bandwagon for tippet -- I use 4lb copolymer for almost everything. I've been happily using the same spool of KastKing FluoroKote for a couple years now. True breaking strength is a little over 5lb, holds knots well and is 0.006" thick, whatever that turns into in X-speak. I tried 100% fluorocarbon for a while but never could get satisfactory knot strength.

I use 5x. Climax brand unroll better for me than all the rest.
