I am having a 0 Weight custom rod being made for me right now (RDP) and I cannot find line for it. All I have found is a Rio line that is DT. I also saw that another manufacturer (SA?) makes a line with no taper. I have never fished a DT before and am a little afraid that I won't be able to cast it in a 0 weight. I could order a 1 weight as many seem to be doing, but it seems that would be defeating the purpose of having a 0 weight rod to begin with. Can anyone out there help me? Or has anyone tried casting a DT 0 weight line? Thanks!

I have the Rio 0wt. DT and it's ok. Well it's the best that is currently on the market. If you can find the old Sage Quiet DT II that is the best 000-3wt DT line I have ever used.

Joe, thanks. I did talk to Mark about that and am considering it. I am just afraid I might never know what a 0 weight feels like if I do though. That being said, it seems that adding a line weight is pretty common. I just wish I had deeper pockets so I could try both!
FH, thanks to you too. I am glad to hear that you are using the DT-0 and that it is OK. I am wondering how that feels next to the same rod with a 1 weight on it.

Do you have a running line from say a three or four weight? That might work for you.

I hadn't thought about anything like that, Paul. I might scrounge around and see what I can find. Seems most folks are just putting 1 weight on their 0 rods and really like it. I just want to experience the matching line/rod on my new fly rod before experimenting with a heavier line. I will probably give the Rio DT a try, but I have never used anything but WF on any of my rods and I figured that might not like the DT. Everyone seems to think I would like the rod a lot better if I just lined up to 1. If I wasn't such a cheapskate I would probably order both!

Look for some old spools of Cortland Floating Deep Nymph line & cut it.
