These are great little rods, especially at that price. I love my 3wt!

TXH2Oman: I think you will be very happy with that 2 weight. I tried it with a Barrio Small Stream WF2, and that combo was perfect together.

Guys,
I placed a order this afternoon after thinking about it for a week and weakest over came me. Missed out on the free postage promo code. I have been thinking about one since it was released and went ahead and ordered the two weight! It has good reviews and I'm sure it will be used!
Enjoy and Be Safe!

Texas Waterman, Good on ya! My little 2 weight arrived today, it's a petite little thing and like others I hope it doesn't break! The reel I have for it is a Okuma SLV 2/3 which I think will balance out greatly when it has backing and line. I think I will like the line it with a 2 weight double taper line and use the rod for local small creeks and farm ponds! Enjoy and Be Safe!

Gill, very nice!
I have a couple Okuma SLV reels -- from time to time they pop up in the Amazon Warehouse section for $30 or so. Good little reels.
I fished my CGR again today ... turned out it was probably not the optimal choice for the breezy conditions, but it sure is fun to have a big 'gill or small bass put a bend in the rod to the cork!

Quick CGR story.
This morning I broke from my usual UL ways and went to my local pond with the new 7/8 wt CGR, a 10# bass leader and a big top water bug.
On the second cast the bug gets crushed by a huge bass. I set the hook and almost immediately it breaks me off. Guess I was over confident with the heavy gear and it cost me a big fish. Probably would have been a personal best.
That said, I'm loving the CGR. It has no problem making long casts as long as I remember to slow down. In particular it's showing me how to do a constant tension (Belgian) cast.

With all the praise the CGR 2 wt. receives I just had to get one, taking advantage of the last sale. Fitted it with a Lamson Liquid 1.5 reel, lined with Piscifun 3 wt line, and headed to my local duck pond. Must admit that unlike my heavier CGRs I had trouble casting the 2 wt. Still have to learn this rod. Despite my casting difficulties the rod and I had a great first outing, catching four species in total. Amazing how this rod really does bend down to the handle even with pretty small fish.

That rod has an action of it's own. Excellent in the right circumstances. Nice bunch of specimens you caught.

Nice collection of fish on any rod - on the two wt, that must have been quite an experience.
