Happy new year Gents

I’ve just come across this rod on one the UK fly fishing forums and the 6’ 2” and 5’ 9” both interest me. My aim for the new year is to find some new unfished tiny streams, maybe only 6’ across. It will be used for duo and dries so which one to pick. Do they both load easily with there designated line weights because I imagine a 20’ cast would be a long one 12-15’ more usual.

Cheers

Chris

On my 6'2" 2 weight I usually use either a Barrio Small Stream WF2 line or a Cabela's DT2, and the rod loads well for even short distances. I have also used a 3WF line on it, but the 2 weight is usually sufficient. I have a new 5'9" 3 weight, but have not used it as of yet. However, several people have mentioned using either 3 or 4 weight lines on it, either DT or WF. Using my scientific wiggle test I was amazed it might handle a 4 weight line. I thought it felt so soft and flexible I could probably cast a 2 weight line on it. I guess I will find out when it warms up enough for me to go outside.

I fish the 2 wt with either a 2 or 3 wt line, but the 2 wt line loads it well. I have only used a 3 wt line on the 3 wt rod. I'll need to try a 4wt line on it sometime. I have used the 3 wt 5' 9" on a small stream, several feet across in most places with overhanging brush, and it worked great.
