Finally, it has arrived.
Last Oct. I ordered a 7' 6" 3wt bamboo rod from a builder I know. I won't mention his name on the forum because I don't know if advertising a rod builder is frowned upon or not, but if you are interested in who, please PM me.
We talked about what the rod was specifically for as in what type of water, flies, and fish to be the future victims of this beauty.
This rod, with it's beautiful caramel color, blued metal, and wooden spacer is a softer/slower medium fast action rod. This rods action is absolutely what I was hoping for to catch 10 to 12 inch brookies in the creeks here in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area of Colorado.
I have to say that without a doubt, he nailed it. After I inspected the rod and admired the quality of his craftsmanship, I contacted him with praise, but had one question. The question was; " what's next? ". We agreed that his next project would be a fiberglass rod, since I now have two bamboo rods from him. It's good to mix it up a bit.
