Hey guys, have been looking at the game rods and was curious to as whether anyone has tried fishing with them. Would love to figure out how to add a reel onto this little guy, they look like lots of fun for panfish. Thoughts?

Take the rod to an auto parts store or hardware store and find the right size rubber O-rings that will stretch over the grip and reel foot. May not look traditional, but better than using duct tape or wader repair tape like I had to do once. I think that could be fun on a small stream.

Took the Orvis Practicaster & paired it with an Orvis CFO II mounted with zip ties just for casting practice with a#3 weight out to about 40' since the "yarn flyline" cast nothing like the video. Caught a small crappie on fly. Also called about buying a Redington Form Game Rod flyline, but none available for sale without purchase of an outfit. Newer Orvis casting practice banty rod is shorter.

How'd you like fishing on it? Would you do it again? Or was it just a gimmick.

Was just casting to see how well an injured elbow had recovered with months of physical therapy to progress to bigger line weights as accuracy had been drastically reduced from a bone chip. Will probably walk across the street to try for bedding crappie this spring at sometime just for the fun of it. Get a strike from a big bucketmouth would be something else as it might top a 7 - 8 lber on a #5 with a grasshopper fly catch.
