Apparently in "hipshot's" right hand. He's the only guy I know that has one. He claims to have caught 22" slot redfish from the Gulf on it, but sounds like a "fish story" to me. ;) Actually, once you get down to 1 weight, it becomes difficult to define something lower than 1. Basically anything below a 2 weight is essentially a 1 weight. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

A “1/2-weight” rod would apparently fit in between a “0-weight” and a 1-weight. Some have reported that the “1/2-weight” is actually a 1-weight or even a 2-weight.

According to AFTMA guidelines for fly line weight, a 1 weight line is one that weighs 54 to 66 grains in the first 30 feet. Rio lines is the only manufacturer I was able to find at this time that makes fly lines listed as being below 1 weight. The Rio LT double taper 1 weight is listed at 66 grains, right at the upper limit for a 1 weight. The LT double taper 0 line weighs 58 grains, falling well within the 1 weight line margins. The 00 and 000 lines do fall below the 1 weight line margins. The one guy I know who regularly fishes a TFO 1/2 weight rod usually fished with a WF2 line, though he did pick up some 1 weight lines a while back. Most Rio lines I have weighed are from 1/2 to one line weight heavy. Even their stated line weights show them to be heavy for their stated line weight in most cases. This is why I said above that most lines below 2 weight are actually just 1 weight.

I have the 5' TFO 'Half-weight'.
As others have said it's happy with a 1 or 2 wt. line.

I have DT0F and DT00F lines, but that rod doesn't cast those well.
