I am interested in having a rod made from a Riffle blank but am having a hard time contacting the shop to get pricing and other into. I have seen in another forum that it's best to contact him though fax but I'm not having any success with that or calling. Does anyone have any helpful hints as to how best contact him and get this info? Also, I'd like to hear y'alls experience with these blanks and which ones you like. Thanks!

I have one that I bought of Jerry (jdub) and I could not be happier..I have a Airex 343 on it and it balances well...cast a #4dt real easily...Looks good, (he did a fine job), cast very well to about 45',In the hands of a more experienced person would do better I am sure... smooth soft tip for playing fish real well, at 7' a good all around rod, roll cast good, mends well...As you can tell I love it...When I do take the plunge to wrap and assemble my first rod it will be a Riffle Glass blank...no hesitation.....Rob

Thanks Rob. How many pieces is yours? I'd really like a multi-piece (3+) blank.

Mine is the 7' 2 piece 3/4#....When I am not sure where I am going to fish when I walk out the door this is the rod I take cause it is so versatile...Plus for some reason I have a thing for fiberglass...slow like me I guess....Rob

Just curious...any other blanks out there that I should consider that are similar to Phil's (price, etc.)?

The reel seat insert on the first rod is teak and the hardware is a nickel silver set that Phil sells in his kits. The second rod has a light cherry insert but the same nickel silver silver hardware.

The Riffle blanks make up into wonderful rods. Here is a little 6'3" for a #3/4 by the well know builder, Rich Margiotta:

Duff, That is one nice rod! I think those maroon wraps really set off the golden color of the rod

Rich really did do a beautiful job and I'm as pleased with how it casts as how it looks. Here are the specs: Nickel silver seat with butternut spacer, dark red silk wraps tipped in antique gold, TiC striper and hook keeeper and black nickel Snakebrand guides and tip top. I like it with a WF4 and it balances well with the Hardy Featherweight. I believe some of the early Riffle blanks were had spigot ferrules but mine has tip over but construction.

that 6'3" version is a great small water rod. Mine, a 6'8" is tip-over-butt, and I like 3DT on it, but with heavier flies I will put 4WF on it. That's interesting that yours has spigot ferrule. I do like them as connections.
