Orvis is offering some of their rods with a free Battenkill barstock or mid-arbor reel right now. Might be a good time to pick up a Superfine 1 or 2wt and Battenkill I! The offer is on their website, but I asked my local dealer and he said they are honoring the offer, too. -CC

I guess I bought my Orvis 1 wt about 2 weeks too soon. Dang!
{edit} wait! I just found out that I can get a giftcard for the price difference if the item goes on sale within 30 days. Sweet!
{edit again} I just talked to Orvis customer service--they said: "May I please have your shipping address? We'll get a reel sent right out to you". Orvis Rocks!
CC, thanks for the heads-up!
Jerry

The Orvis coupons which are out are very generous at $25.00 off of any purchase of $50.00 or more. Now for the fine print: non-sale items only!

I can't wait until our warehouse sale in January to see if there is an UL rod there.

Andy, They didn't have a lot in the way of small rods. If there are any, I would recommend getting there early as they're some of the first to go. Leaders are another subject. The Dallas stop had boxes of these sized mostly for bass and redfish, but at .10 each you can't build 'em cheaper. And that's what I plan to do. Les

Yeah, I plan on going right from work, so early will not be a problem...also, if they have a LIGHT rod, I might have to take it home.
