Chef. I have an extra Dennison miniature reel seat and reel that I will donate to the project. However, only the Dennison reel will work. I have a Spezio 5' 6" blank with the same set up so I know it is practical. You can turn down the butt to fit the .25 ID reel seat. Don

Chef indicated that he will use a regular seat on this one, which I totally understand. I look forward to my turn with the finished rod. Don

I fabricated the handle today. Birch bark and cedar bark. I have made a couple and love how they look and feel in the hand. I am pretty sure that I bought a piece of antler for the handle on ebay, but we will see. I decided to use English Bronze snakes and stripper guide- burnt orange silk thread.

I love the look of birch bark grips. I can see now that this rod when finished will be stunning.

Someone sniped me on e bay. I am having trouble sourcing a piece of antler. I need one 4" by 1" if anyone can help me locate please. I am going to use a T. Zietak Garrison Style cap and ring seat. The antler will be turned down to .656. I think it will be light enough if I bore out the antler a little extra and keep the handle on the small side.
