Well the rain came in the other day for the frist front of our southern Winter. I sat down with the kids and tied some flies. Mostly for our UL saltwater fishing but they also work on the local trout (when you can find them) and redfin Perch. Front and Back of some BMSs, Hammerheads and Gurglers for the 3wt.

Adam,
Thanks for posting the photos. Just checked the hammerhead on a web search and it looks like an interesting tie. But what is the BMS, and where do you live that you are now going into winter?

Pete the BMS is the same tie sans the dumb bell eye as the hammerhead, it has a glass or tungsten bead instead. The are both flies of the late Muz Wilson. They are great flies for our Australian bream that let you work the water column. They work great on a wide range of fish due to the tail and translucent halo of the dubbing. They are light but appear much bigger. It is a supper simply fly that can be adjusted based on dubbing and ribon used.

Hope it adds something to the box for you guys.

I guess that answers the second question too. I live in the SW of Western Australia having moved from the climes further north late last year near Exmouth.

I keep forgetting about Gurglers. Thank you for the reminder.
