Can't wait to get these on some fish this spring. I tested yesterday in an unfrozen Ohio pond and they look killer. 2 1/4" overall length.

Looks great. Do you mind sharing the materials you used to make this? I am looking forward to hearing how it fishes.

It's really a pretty simple fly. A little time consuming but not complicated. Here's the recipe.
Rear hook: Mustad 3366 #10 Middle hook: Eagle Claw #6 bait hook, snip the point Front hook: Mustad 3366 #6 Tail: arctic fox Body: India hen back Junction: 50lb PowerPro braid Coloration: Sharpies/Prismacolor marker Head: #4 Fish Mask

That is an awesome looking little fly.
I need to get back to the vise and tie me up a few of these.

Thanks for the recipe. I guess an all white colored with sharpie would be effective too? Must give this a try.

I tested a white/chartreuse version late last month. It was December. In Ohio. And it caught a few fish. I think that's a good sign.

Super nice looking fly. I can see why crappies would go after it and would probably be just as effective on white bass, large and smallmouth - just about any fish that eats other small fish. It could be tied in some more subdued olive or brown grizzly with a little flash tied in too. I'll give it a try!

Very nice Cream. Curious the fish you caught were hooked on the front or back of the fly?

Interesting, although you may want the back hook for the white bass run.

looks great, you could prob use the 20mm shanks from flymen for the back two, i'd also leave off the rear hook point as a lot of predator attacks are at the head....how many fish pics have you seen with the head of a fish poking out of a lunker mouth? Its mostly tails you see haning out.
I'm gonna try to tie some up.
