Well, my backyard, anyhow. Dig my solution to getting up and down our steep, rocky bank.

About 10 days ago as Harvey, by then a tropical storm, parked itself just southeast of San Marcos, I took advantage of breaks between rain bands (and gusts to 45mph) to fish ... mostly just to say I did, but it turned-out to be an above-average hour on the water.

This morning, on my first full day back from the boat, I climbed into the water again and headed downstream (last time I went upstream). Seemed like a good way to shake the work-week cobwebs off after dropping the kids at school.

Chinese 3wt (marketed as Ruby River by Green Caddis Outfitters last time I checked, but $60.99 on Amazon from the AventikINT -- highly recommended either way) fiberglass rod the first day -- CGR 2wt (which to be fair, is Chinese as well) this morning. North Fork Gabe.

Throwing nuthin' but the mouse. Promise to come to the meet-up in a couple of weeks, and I swear I'll rest these fish 'til y'all get here ....

Nice topic and report. Like the solution to getting up and down the bank, easily implemented and leaves more time for fishing.

I'm a big fan of these 'fishing in my backyard' posts. Thanks!
