When crew change is late, I wait at the dock. When crew change is *really* late, I go fishing. It was gonna be the jetties for fat snook, or a pond for bass and panfish ... I looked at the wind, looked at my 3 wt Echo Glass, and opted for the pond.

Fast forward a few evenings. At the dock around midnight, no jobs scheduled for a while ... speckled (spotted sea) trout chasing bait under the lights. Get the deckhand in on the action ....

Not quite as satisfying to me as wading the rivers and creeks at home, but not bad for being at work. Not bad at all ....

Aaron,
Now that's what I call really productive "just waiting around".

You wouldn't happen to be hiring new employees would you? I think I would like to work with you. Lol.

The best part is we don't have to sneak around ... we fish with the full knowledge and approval of the company. But I gotta tell you, tugboats are the Worst. Fly Fishing. Skiffs. Ever.

Now that is a great place to work. On my bucket list is to go saltwater fly fishing. It looks like you had fun catching those sea trout.

Nice catches in both the fresh and salt. Proof that one should always keep a rod or two on hand.
