I check my phone. 24°F and snowing.
I chuckle after I realize that's current condition in Painesville, Ohio. I swipe over to North Port. 60 and sunny.
I send a text to a friend up there. He's new to fishing and has yet to discover steelhead, so, according to him, he's shut down until the spring thaw. He's a bit jealous that I'm heading out.
It ain't sunny. It's drizzly.
Started out well. Fat little bugger hit after a couple casts
Then a couple bluegill
That was it. Unless you want to count the gator. Just it's eyes were out of the water, so it was perfectly camouflaged with the surrounding branches. They will snap at anything that swims close to their head. I accidentally cast over that branch, and slowly stripped the fly back as not to get hung up... and...
Surprise!
Fortunately, the hook came free quickly.
