Well as some of you know I used to be a owner of a Orvis Superfine 1wt Carbon rod. Well it just didn’t suit my casting style. Being a very nice rod just didn’t seem to fit me. So with there 100% satisfaction guarantee, I returned it. I went back to my tried and tested and found to be worth TFO Finesse1 wt. I paired t with the BattenKill I reel and the Superfine 1wt line. It arrives vex to the house on Tuesday and I was on the water yesterday before work. I stopped at Tinker Creek in Roanoke. Fished for about an hour or so with the 1wt line. Managed a few.

This was my first fish of 2018. Hopefully many more to come. Being true to it’s form, I left and headed to the store. The 1wt Superfine line just didn’t have what it takes to to be ad the TFO Finesse rod. I picked up a 2 wt Superfine line that will work out just fine. I have always up lined my 2wt finesse rods in the past and the 1 is no different it seems. The stockers here in VA are bigger than the ones I’m used to from Tx.

Nice fish Mike. NJ's been like Maine for the past few weeks so all our water is now hard water.

Well it was 15° last night when I went to bed at 2am. 7° at 6:30 am when I woke up. I was planning on going out this morning, but de died against it. Has since warmed up to 17°. I don’t know, maybe it’s a different kind of cold but I believe gone are the days of fishing the South Platte at 11mile Canyon in -5° and -17°. I used to have t9 pick ice out of my guides, but never had my leader freeze up like my first trip out this year. Maybe getting soft in my old age.
