Fishing's been a little slow. Rains have raised water levels. Red tide seems to be getting worse with each report.

One recent highlight was getting a cichlid on a bamboo rod. Bent that thing to the cork. Fortunatley, it was a little guy.

But that was on a 4 weight, so that shoudn't be here.

Neither should this. One Jawa cape short of completion. Some capes/weapons aren't original.

As soon as the sun starts to rise, I'll be out. Not sure where, but, hopefully things will change?

Wow! Those cichlids are pretty. And given the shape, must be a pretty good fight. I assume those are non-native escaped/released aquarium fish, right?
Any idea what is causing the red tide to be so acute this year?

brent.

They fight like a bluegill on steroids! And they are non native. They were first discovered in the everglades in 1983.

As far as the red tide goes, there's no definitive answer. They're still studying it.
