Got this baby monster yesterday.

(I know it's not the best to lay him on the shore to take a picture, got enough heat about that in FB already)

Jumped a few more but, got my flies thrown back at me. That's Tarpon fishing...

That's a very nice tarpon, even moreso on a 1 wt!

Is that fly one of your own concoctions or is it a standardized pattern?

For what it's worth, i check this forum several times a day waiting for your next 1wt report! Makes my day!

Thanks you all for your kind words.

Del:
That pattern is inspired on a pattern I saw in the Fly Tyers Dungeon YouTube channel. The material is called northern lights. It comes in many colors. Tarpon seem to prefer the multicolor ones.

Tied the fly as if it was EP or Congo fibers. It compresses when wet or stripping and then fluffs on the stop. Here's a picture of how it looks dry. I also tied a new one today for a fly set ordered a couple days ago. It's more streamlined. ImageImage

Forgot to mention the fly is tied in a 2/0 hook. The material is very light. Can be casted over 30 feet easy with the 1wt using a 2wt line.
