"When I fish alone, I prefer to be by myself".

Saturday. I meant to get out at first light, but I fell asleep.

Anyways, I made the grueling five minute trek to the canal. It was drizzly, with little wind.

Foul hooked a big turtle. Fortunately, I remembered the net. No pics, because I was more concerned about getting it back into the water.

There were a couple bluegill

This guy made an appearance, so it was time to move on

Found this guy sitting next to a culvert

But soon after this guy moved into the spot. I decided to let him have it. Yeah, I might be bigger, and I do have a pocket knife, but I'd rather avoid confrontation

This is the first forum post I've ever made with this tablet, so it outta be interesting to see how it turns out.

Tough life to live a walk away from your fishing water, pity you have unwanted visitors. Is there any way to show them they are not welcome?
Nice Blue Gill and bonus bass.

I usually give them a dirty look. Sometimes, I might show a certain finger. Mostly, I just concede the spot. It's theirs to begin with, anyways!

I wonder if anybody has every caught a gator on a big streamer? I live where all our water is still covered in a few feet of ice so for me the question is academic.

I've hooked a few by accident. Never tried to land them, though. They'll snap st anything that lands near their snout. This morning, I had a little one chase a gurgler. .

I, too, have hooked gators, in SC. One 5 footer that I (obviously) had to break off, and an 18" one I was able to release. Neither on purpose. The big one took a lot of line before I snubbed him up, but I don't believe he even knew he was hooked.

Gators taste good! You should have caught it and brought it home to make gator stew or fried gator tail.
