It seems like there as been somewhat of a void in the lower weight fly rod market. With this in mind and in collaboration with myself and Steeldrifter, Karen at Bingham Ent. has followed up with another SHX to be released in the future. You can contact her with any and all inquiries for the particulars and availability

This is a 7'6" SHX 1wt in the traditional titanium color.
The bare blank weighs in at a mere 25gr or .880oz
It has an ERN of 1.44 bare
Has an AA of 60
Built weight on this particular one as pictured comes in at 75gr or 2.6oz, keeping in mind that depending on handle and reel seat components could come in a bit lighter

Did you check the ERN after the build as well? I'm just curious what it ended up being afterward.

SWCR, you said in the beginning of your initial post, "It seems like there as been somewhat of a void in the lower weight fly rod market." That is true of 1-weights, and even more so when you get below 1-weight, including for lines.

But what I'd really like to know is what materials were used for the reel seat and grip on the first rod pictured. Thanks for the great pics.

The grip is rubberized cork on the ends, Horizontal and vertical wave cork in between. The reel seat is on of my Lemke LC1's that I offer and the insert is stabilized black dyed quilted maple. All the pictures are of the same rod.

SWCR,

It's been about a year since your post. I'm curious about your impression of this rod now.
Also, the blank finish doesn't appear to be a high gloss, s that the case?
Thanks,
Keith S.

The finish is a very high gloss titanium color. I thoroughly enjoy fishing with it, as so do many others that have used it in their reports to me.
