Waterman, sign up at a web based photo host service like Photobucket.

The host site will provide you with a link which you then post here.

they weigh close to the same but are much stronger as they do not egg shape as easy under stress as does a tubular rod and they are much thinner for the same line wt

Are those prices for a blank or a complete rod? I'm looking for something light and short for my stepdaughter.

Mr. Waterman,

You've really got my curiosity going with this thread. At first I was a bit skeptical, as solid glass brings those stiff little ice-fishing rods or casting rods to my mind. But we do need to remain open-minded. Solid glass or carbon fiber rods may actually have good points. It will be interesting to see what other fishermen have to say about them once they get into the right hands and get used some more.

When you say that you can make blanks down to a 00000-weight, very well and good, but what would you use for a line, and how much should such a line weigh over the first 30 feet?

i would start out by oil dressing a 12lb nylon line with a mixture of spar and linseed oil much like an oiled silk line and using a needle to thread in some mono for a core to develop a taper
