Couple shots of my new build process. This is my 3rd build on one of Mark's Blanks. The other builds were both on the 7 1/2', 1wt blanks. Both still in service, one in North Carolina now after Honduras with my buddy, and the other in Woodland Park with another buddy. But any way here goes. Black single foot guides, walnut and black reel seat, orange thread, and I used Gudebrod Ready-to-use rod finish. The rod finish worked great, no mixing and set up time of about 15 mins with no tackiness.

Very nice build, I really like the reel on there. Is that a reel that Mark sells? I see it as RDP FLY RODS marked on it. I did not know he had those.

Hmmm, the rod is very nice, but it was the reel that really caught my eye.
It's got a look very reminiscent of the Hardy Marksman.
Hmmm, I'd really like to see the other side.

That is very nice...and a 2.4 oz. reel. I'm going to have to look in to those as I'm having a hard time balancing a 2 wt I currently have.

I'll take some pictures of the reel and get them posted on here. I paid more for the reel then the rod kit, which is a shock for me. It is well made and balances the 7' 2wt very nicely.

Thank you for posting those! I suspect there'll be a few orders coming in at RDP in the near future. Very nice look. Size and weight may be perfect for my Featherweight rod.

I just ordered the 7'6" 2 weight blank from RDP based on Barker's recommendation. I think he's a good judge of rods; gotta save up for one of those reels.-p-
