The country side is as diverse as anywhere else whether in South Africa or here in Texas, but that water and scenery is really pretty,I guess the streams you pictured are mostly different streams? Or do they typically run from mountain and forest to open ground with no trees?

Beautiful. What is stream access like? is it all private property and you need owner's permission to fish, or does the government own the stream and stream bed - so it's public land??

The majority of our streams begin their life high in the highlands. Usually making their way through forest and feeding our larger rivers.
In the Northern Midlands (where I live) these rivers usually flow through open farm land, while in other parts of the state they can run all the way to the ocean through thick forest.
The Inland Fisheries Service has teamed up with quite a few land owners and made "Angler Access" points. Most land owners will let you on if you approach them in the right manner. We have plenty of National Park and Forest Reserve access also.
There are quite a few areas I fish where you can just park at the bridge and walk up stream without any questions.

Beautiful country but I have to wonder just how difficult it is to obtain a real beef hamburger there?

Absolutely beautiful. I've read about trout fishing in lakes in Tasmania but, never fishing in streams. Thanks for broadening my knowledge.

Great pictures. Tasmania is not a place that many people including myself would associate with trout water.
Are the trout mainly Brown Trout or are there Rainbows and Brook Trout and other species present?

Tassie is known for it's brown trout, particularly our wild browns that lurk in our beautiful Western Lakes. We do have plenty of waters that browns and rainbows share but our brook trout are limited to only a few lakes.
