As far as blue cats go this one is not a huge one, but for me fly fishing from my float tube it is HUGE!! I was fishing for stripers yesterday but fished for 5 hours and had only caught one fish, a 2# drum. I was about to go home but on my way back to the shore I was trailing a fly behind me, really not expecting to catch anything. Suddenly I felt a hit and worked in a 3# blue, then 5 more that averaged about 2#. Then I was lazily trailing a fly behind me again as I was moving slowly down the river and felt another hit. At first I thought that I had a 5-6# cat on the line, until it came up and splashed the top, then I knew it wasn't a small cat! It took me about 15 minutes to get it to hand and my wrist is still sore today. It weighed in at 16.9#. I caught it with a #6 polar flash clouser on my 7-wt rod.

If I had stayed longer I could probably have caught my limit of cats, but I was ready to go home after that big one.
