Hope you find a proper way to celebrate turning this astronomical corner. Just had my first sip of coffee at 6:44 AST to celebrate. Looking forward to longer days!

Some people will find any and every reason to party. I hope you put a little rum or bourbon in your coffee to celebrate, Brent. :lol

Didn't even cross my mind, Cliff. Dang. See, that's why I need to live closer to people like you who can be a more positive influence on my decisions. ;)

Yep, I agree. You might even be able to catch some big fish down here in Texas. :P

Yahoo! We've turned the corner. At least in terms of daylight but sadly not temps.

Ain't THAT the truth. Although, as I told my wife yesterday, it all balances out come June 21 when the longest day of the year is then followed by two or three months of warmer weather. There's no doubt the long winter nights are a drag here in the north, but those long summer days, with hours of twilight are the big payoff. The lack of people is just the icing on the cake. :lol

A few days along now and we are closer by that much to Spring and Summer. I grew up in North Dakota so cold weather was a what so. Been in western Oregon for so long that I cringe thinking about day after day of really cold weather - brilliant sunshine and cold enough to freeze a fart.
I enjoy the Solstice times a great deal. Glad you posted, wheezeburnt.
