I play guitar, but I don't think I'm very good at it. I like all kinds of music with the exception of rap, R&B, most radio pop, and country.

I have been listening to Ry Cooder since 'Paradise and Lunch' and probable have 12 of his products. His soundtracks to Paris Texas and Southern Confort are some of my all time favorites. I also have been a fan of Richard Thompson who is so dead-on for years he is by far one of the most underrated guitarist I can think of. His whole catalog including the soundtrack to Werner Herzog's Grizzly Man is so perfect framing the power of the animal world,it still chills me hearing it.

I've been playing acoustic guitar for about 20 years. I enjoy playing old time, folk, blues, old hymns - mostly simple stuff. I know and play with some real musicians and compared to them, I consider myself a guitar player, not a musician.

I used to be the battalion bugler in my Marine Corps Reserve Unit 45 years ago, does that count?

I play guitar and try and play saxophone. Since my new job has started my skills have dwindled. I played in a couple of punk bands but could play pretty much anything. It was mostly an excuse to hang with friends and drink beer.
