I have been using Alboline for years now. I keep refilling my bottle of gink.

That stuff has gotten expensive since they labeled it as a cure for ceriacis (spelling) ?

Yep. We used to use carbon tetrachloride that you could buy off the shelf at the drug store and Gulf paraffin wax back in the 50's and early 60's. It didn't smell as bad as the white gas. Our trick was to solder a small ring to the cap so we could tie it to the neck of the bottle. Not something you wanted to drop while standing in the stream.

Another Albolene fan here. Except for when its really really cold I've used nothing better. Never tried the white gas/parafin thing. Thanks for sharing that tidbit!

Been using Vicks Lip care for about 20 years now and it floats flies quite well and lasts a long time. Cheap too.

Wanted to try the Alboline, now curious about the Ray Bergman formula. Problem is that I get about 2-3 yrs out of a single bottle of floatant. Probably will be more now, because I'm finding I use nymphs 80%-90% of the time now. When I started, it was nothing but dries.

See? Now THERE's an angler that cares about the well-being of his quarry. I wonder how polysporin might work? ;)

Maybe should let the "rip lips" crowd in on this. Could help some of their poor little fishies recuperate from their experience. :lol

Joe; the Paul O'Neil quote is brilliant! Thanks for sharing it. I smile every time, thinking about it as I gather my stuff to go fishing!-p-

Where would a person get paraffin wax from? Not something I've ever bought before.
