i spend a lot of time walking in waders and find that walking will (obviously ) wear down the felt so I keep my old worn out wading boots or sneakers and use for walking to ponds.

If the the uppers are still in good condition just purchase some new felt soles and get your local cobbler to install them on your boots. You can do it yourself but I found the cobbler would do a better job. I've usually gotten the original and two replacements on a good pair of boots before they go in the trash.

:eek Cobbler? Where do you live? Middle Earth? :lol :lol
Ah, just messing with you, but good for you to actually have a functioning cobbler nearby. We went about 15 years without one within about 60 miles; finally found a guy living just off the nearby military base, who retired from the army and set up a shoe and leather repair business. Man, its like finding a secret gold mine. I've taken him backpacks, boots, and a pair of Keen water sandals; haven't paid more than $20 yet.
