 Post subject: CORK REPAIRS

It seems to me that the cork on many rods is - let us say- not as durable as in years past so I use wood repair filler you can buy at any hardware store (about $3)
in dark walnut color- gently fill in the gaps and when it hardens, your cork is better than the original. I use Minwax and just gently rub it in - it fills the cracks, strengthens the cork and since you have most used the rod(s), the cork is already dark and the dark walnut blends right in.
there are better methods of repairing cork but this one is simple, quick and cheap.
the left over filler can be used for your "honey do " list
