"Golden Stone." #12.

■Materials■

●Hook: Dai-Riki #270.
●Thread: Veevus 8/0. Brown.
●Bead: Black/Nickle Tungsten 1/8".
●Additional Weight: .020. Lead wire.
●Antenna: Two Brown Goose Biots.
●Legs: Pumpkin Silly Legs.
●Thorax: Chocolate Brown Hare-Tron Plus dub.
●Abdomen: Golden Stone Hare-Tron Plus dub.
●Shell Back/Wing Case: Molted Turkey Tail fibers.
●Tail: Two Light Brown Goose Biots.
●Rib: Size Medium, Copper/Brown wire.
●U.V. Resin: Med. Flex. (Generic.)
●Varnish: Sally Hansen "Hard as Nails."

■Recipe■

(⬇Abdomen⬇)
●Add the Additional lead weight. Snug it tight into the bead.
●Secure in the lead wire with thread.
●Tie in the Biot tails well into the bend of the hook. Keep them evenly spaced and on top of the shank.
●Tie in the wire rib just behind the lead wraps. Wrap back down to the tails.
●Tie in the Turkey wing case just in front of the Tails on top of the shank.
●Dub a plump tapered Abdomen about 2/3rd up the shank.
●Fold over the Wing Case and secure in.
**Do NOT snip off the Wing Case!**
●Bring the Wire Rib up securing in the Wing Case. "Worry off" Rib close.
**Make sure not to let the Rib push the Wing Case over to one side.**

(⬇Thorax⬇)
●Tie in the first set of Silly Legs on both sides of the shank.
●Dub figure 8 wraps around the first set of legs.
●●Repeat this with the Silly Legs 2 more times. Keep the legs evenly spaced through the Thorax.
**The Thorax dubbed portion should be generously plump and spikey.**
●After all legs are tied in, tie in the two Biot Antenna just behind the bead. Snip butt ends off close.
●Next, fold over the Wing Case fibers and secure in just in front of the bead.
●Whip finish with a little bit of dubbing on the thread to cover up any thread wraps next to the bead.
●Snip off thread close.

(⬇Finishing touches⬇)
●Add a enough thin varnish to the entire Wing Case so that it soaks thoroughly through and into the top of the dubbing.
Let the varnish dry for an hour or so.
●Next add a layer of your favorite U.V. Resin to the entire Wing Case and hit it with a torch. Repeat this until you have the desired thickness your looking for.
●Finally, coat the DRIED U.V. Resin with a layer or two of your favorite thin varnish.
(Sally Hansen "Hard as Nails" works just fine as a varnish for all of this.)
●DONE!!!!!

*I know this isn't a "Winter" Stonefly pattern, but I always like to use the current Seasons to restock for the other Seasons.*
