Today there is a Kindle version of Catching Bluegill available for free download over on Amazon. The reviews gave high praises on the book though I don't know how much is in it on flyfishing.

Been resisting getting a Kindle. I live turning pages but I can see how the Kindle would be handy sometimes. Hmmm...

Paul,
You don't have to buy a Kindle. You can download the kindle app onto any PC or tablet and then get the books on the app.

Hey Dave thanks for this. I had no idea and like learning things. There are thousands of books in the public domain. I am going to do some exploring. Cheers and good reading to you.

Does anyone know if there is a Kindle version of Mike Harding's 'A Guide to North Country Flies and How to Tie Them'? I have been trying for ages to find a copy of the book at a reasonable price, without success. Any suggestions welcome!

Swampash,
Here’s a link for you that may or may not work. There are hundreds of old fly-fishing books available in e-book formats including Kindle. It’s a link to a digitized copy from the California Digital Library. Going to the source, and searching for "fly fishing" pulled up a treasure trove of 83 texts. Included are: Yorkshire Flies; North Country Flies (Pritt); Practical Angler (Stewart); Wet Fly Fishing (Tod); Brook and River Trouting; Minor Tactics of the Chalk Stream; and a bunch more.

https://archive.org/details/cdl?and%5B% ... rt=&page=2

One book that may interest you is:
“North-country flies. Comprising eleven plates of hand-painted illustrations, from the author's own drawings, with particulars of the dressings and season of each fly; and chapters on fishing the minnow, the creeper, the stonefly, and the worm in clear water, with an extra plate showing the hooks necessary therefor”
By Pritt, T. E. (Thomas Evan)

I hope this works out for you. I have found a few good reads here.
