I'm telling ya Joe ..sure seems that way doesn't it, fly reels, nose grease. Think I'm going open up my own fly shop, heck, I've got, a captive audience don't I...I could also use you as a trout fishing instructor, great advertising, no one does it better than you ........Brent can teach stream entomology, Cliff, bass fishing, and poaching ... I think that covers it all ..... Paul

I agree with the beeswax crowd. I carry a small tub of it I bought 15 years ago at the fabric shop for $1. It is the traditional quick fix for metal ferrules that have become worn and the fit is no longer snug. It will perform the same duty on fiberglass and graphite ferrules as well.

I talked to the people from Temple fork and they said that the nose grease was good for metal ferrules but that the new graphite rods did not need it Just keep them clean PatL Paul It was all we used to use to lubricate ferrules before putting a rod together back in them thar days. Also used to use it on a reel that you wanted to show off while in the field. Made the old medalist shine like a baby’s a…

That's funny we should bring up nose grease again ...just the other day I was fly fishing for LM bass here in south Florida with a neighbor of mine, he is a pipe smoker ...I noticed him rubbing the bowl of the pipe on his nose, I asked what he was doing? He said "Shining the bowl of my pipe with nose grease" just goes to show its a multi use grease ...he also uses behind the ear grease. To bad we can't bottle this stuff it definitely will sell .....

I've been using some sealing wax out of a jar of Peach preserves my Grandmother made and we ate back in the 70's. Apparently 1 jar's worth is a lifetime supply. I store it in ziplock bag stashed in my reel bag and it comes with me every time I fish. I have never had a rod stick together ever. Thanks Gommie.
