Double Davy. I don't know many other knots though.

I guess I'm an against the grain guy when it comes to knots. I use a trilene knot fly to tippet and a double nail knot tippet to leader.

"Regular" (unimproved) clinch knot for tippet to fly - missing from the poll BTW.

Triple surgeon's knot for tippet to leader.

Not sure how to vote but I have used the Duncan loop for years with great results. Stick with it and maxima.... Don't really have knot or line failures with this combo. Not the story when I mix it up but maybe it's me.

I just read through this entire thread. It is extremely useful. Make sure this is never lost.

Canoeman's loop. Simple and quick.

My father-in-law taught me a line to hook knot about 50 years ago and I have used it ever since. I finally discovered about 3 years ago that I have been using the Pitzen knot all this time. I have read all the knot vs. knot strength comparisons and have learned other, supposedly better knots, but my muscle memory for the Pitzen has become the final determinant in which knot I use. Every time I start to tie one of the other knots, I somehow become all thumbs and just give up.

Good old fashioned Clinch Knot, not the improved or "Trilene" version. It has always held the knot.
