Since I fish warm water 99% of the time, I like the Super Cypret Minnow, the MM Minnow, the Sinking spider (modified cap spider) and the standard Woolly-Bugger. If top water is not working, I usually fish one or more of the above........Don in SC

If I could only have one subsurface (wet) fly, it would be a Briminator, in one of a couple forms.

Don (tailing loop) here taught me the Cypert Minnow, and I have used it with success last season. Either one is a no-hesitate grab for me.

Hornberg, even if it won't catch I'll fish it because I love the look.

North Country Spiders fished upstream. Seriously effective. Heck, I even fish them in stillwater for bluegill too.

My favorite wet fly is the "Professor" and the "Coachman". BTW Wooly Buggers, Muddler Minnows and the Hornberg are not wet flys they are streamers.

My favorite wet flies are the Wooly Bugger, Yuk Bug, Flash Fly, Stimulator(fished wet). If I had to fish with one, two ....etc
flys I would choose them in that order. Target is gills and small bass. I also like a jig&pig I make with a micro jig trimmed for the rod weight I am using (maybe 1/120 oz for 3 wt) but I don't know if we would agree that is a fly, but I'll mention it anyway; the jig&pig... least preference.
