I just bought a .45 Taurus PT1911 pistol that hasn't had but maybe 100 rounds fired through it. At almost 75 I don't have the strength I used to (getting old sure is fun) and I'm finding it hard to pull the slide back. Is there any way to make that easier?

Cliff hold the slide with one hand and push down against the pistol grip away from you.
Cliff if you're so shaky be careful with trying a target 10 feet from you.

Thanks Eric, but I'm looking for a way to lessen the pressure itself, a mechanical solution.

there may be some lighter weight recoil springs that could help. though that may change what loads you can fire.

That's the type of thing I'm looking for. Thanks.
