 Post subject: Hunting with air pistols

I've been thinking of trying an air pistol for squirrels.Anyone hunt with one thatbcould point me to a good one? I would like to put a scope on it my eyes are'nt what the use to be.

I've used air rifles with success but never tried it with my pistol.

Like Joe, I've used an air rifle for squirrels but never a pistol. I have a Crosman 1377 pistol that gets around 600 fps (.177 cal.), but that's just not enough for squirrels. I've taken chipmunks with it, but wouldn't dare to try it on anything larger.

Ditto......I use a BSA .22 break-barrel rifle. It only gets about 650 fps....but it knocks the crap out of the "tree-rats"
They "shuck" my pecan trees clean every year. (I think they multiply faster than rabbits).................Don in S
