The only inexpensive firearms I own are the ones that was handed down to me. However, a decade ago when I was buying up used guns, I picked up a Remington 760 pump action 300 Savage for about 150 bucks. It sported an El Paso made Weaver K3 with a dot. I packed it in the pick up for a long while. I loaded for it and killed a lot of varmints with it. I miss it greatly.
One gun I had given me was a sporterized Spanish Mauser m93 7x57. It bounced around in the pick up for years and I killed coyotes and scringe cats (feral) I duplicated the original loading with a 175 gr round nose at around 2200fps. It had some head space problems (several thousandths past the no go). I seated the bullets long to engage the rifling and fire formed the brass to new dimensions (ha - a 7x58 perhaps). I neck sized the brass and shot the gun for years. Then I disassembled the bolt to remove the firing pin and used the gun for safety practice for my kids when they took hunter safety. I still have the firing pin and I could put it back together but it is a good gun for hunter safety practice.
I also had a relative give me a JC Higgens 30-06 on an FN action. I put a fine bead front sight on it and a Lyman peep sight on it. I wish I still had it. I did some 1000 yard shooting with it with the peep sight. My regular load was a 180gr Remington PSP over a medium charge of IMR 4320 for about 2500fps. It is good ammo and mild, yet it behaves very well at long range. I still have an ice cream bucket full of this ammo.
My Father in Law gave my wife a sporterized 1917 Enfield (Pattern 14) in 30-06. It needs a good scope as the Bushnell he had on it is crap. It is a **** on close style much like the m93 Mauser I owned.
One gun I almost bought was a Schmidt Rubin K31 in 7.5x55 Swiss....a round that nearly duplicates the 308 round however in ballistics only, not caliber or case dimensions. I was inspired to buy one after watching the Lonesome Dove western series where a bad mexican kid uses one with a telescopic sight to snipe and terrorize people and had to be hunted down by Captain Call. I wish I had one. I had one in my hands that I could have bought for 100 bucks. They cost a lot more now.

Good stuff!!! Dave, everybody should have at least one inexpensive weapon That Mosin I posted, I picked up at Big-5 back in 04 for 69 bucks I still say it is the best 69 bucks I have spent. My other inexpensive weapon is an old tube fed .22. I'll have to post pics here soon.

That's what I paid for mine too. Great rifles for the money even though they have their little quirks.

My version of inexpensive and fun is my early 1970's vintage Smith & Wesson Mod 78G .22, a CO2 version of the best offhand target .22 of all time, the Mod 41. Even with the complete overhaul just completed by Precision Pellet, this highly accurate, long barrel pistol has cost me barely $100, and it shoots as well today as it did when I was in high school. For living in town, where even .22 caps are too loud to get away with, this is the perfect plinker
