My Dad gave me a Remington Classic Limited Edition m700 in 300 H&H a few years ago. He's owned it for a few decades and I loaded all his ammo for it and have spent a fair bit of time with the rifle over the years. It has done more sitting than anything lately, but I know where there is a big fuzzy black bear near here, I've run into him a few times and I am thinking I might put together a do it myself spot and stalk hunt for him and use the old Holland and Holland. I've got a bunch of ammo loaded up, I just need to spend some time at distance with the rifle. Spring Bear season opens April 15 in Idaho. I will get out and do some scouting before that day checking for tracks in the snow, etc.

I have spent a lot of time around bears and even done some hunting, but I have never shot a bear. I've had the sights on several bears but never pressed the trigger.....just didn't feel like killing one yet.....but this is a huge, fuzzy, jet black bear and a tanned hide would be cool and smoked bear jerky is delicious.

That's a great hunting cartridge.........but it will work on your mind when you set at the benches and shoot 40-50 rounds. good luck on your hunt.......(send me some "bear-hair")..........Don in SC
