I love fly fishing, but I don’t get to go often enough to keep the rust off. I don’t really see that changing for a few years, but I enjoy chasing panfish and trout when I can. I’ve dipped my toes in UL spinning before, but all the low end rods I’ve tried have been noodles. Does anyone know of a budget offering that has at least some sensitivity.

I’m heading to Maine in a few weeks, and would love to be able to pick one up to carry with me (provided I can unload enough gear to fund a purchase).

Wal Mart carries the Shakespeare Micro Series. $17. The 5' 2 piece UL is a great rod regardless of price. Casts a 1 32nd and a 1 16th beautifully. Not a noodle and not a broomstick. Should be what your looking for.
