Anyone have any experience with Ben's rods? Availability tends to waver a bit but I am curious if anyone has any reviews of this rod.

I'm currently building one from a blank I got from Ben a few months ago, in white. I can't help but try new UL blanks. It's a tiny little thing, but I'd say it's more like a 1wt, using an accurately weighted WF1. I'd keep it if it weren't so close to the Olde English 2wt I already have but just too similar to justify keeping another rod in that niche category. In a test, it definitely got a nice bend in it, so it's legitimately medium action but not super noodly. Shortest rod I ever tried.

Actually not really, which is why I guess I like it so much. The OE 2wt just seems like a nice smooth soft 1wt to me. Maybe since they're not 100% glass? For comparison, I thought the CGRs were noodly and bouncy.
Throw a 1wt on it and actually fish it. Nothing more than 15' or so. Not really meant for anything more. It's a really fun rod.

I have a 1 and a 2 from Benno and like them just fine. But I also like that OE 2 a whole lot.
