I bought an 8' 4wt Redington CT and am now having buyers remorse, wishing I had gotten the 7'6" 3wt and over lined with the 4wt line I have. I often only have 6-8' of line out and find myself wanting a lighter feeling rod without going to glass. I am now trying to decide what to get that will be practical. Would a 2wt CT be to light for what I'm describing? I don't know if the 3wt will that much lighter or different than the 4wt. I don't have anywhere locally to go and try any rods before purchasing sadly so any thoughts are very helpful. Also if anyone has any rods in the $150 price range that they feel would be a better fit by all means please share, I'm looking for something 7'6" or shorter and 99% of all my casting is roll casting or some form of. I did get to try a cabelas glass rod and it's not for me, a little too soft, I'm really looking for something graphite with a similar feel to glass, the CT seems to be the best bang for the buck from what I've read and I do really like my 4wt when I have lots of line out.

So Rusty, have you found it necessary to overline that new rod or does it work well with a 3-weight line?

I don't know to be honest, it works fine with my 4wt line so I have not purchased any 3wt yet, I probably will eventually along with either a spare spool for my current reel or another reel. I am just enjoying what I do have atm and I am still pretty inexperienced so still kinda feeling it all out.
