David, I'm glad you like it here. I hope to expand the forums as we grow. So far, I'm very happy with the way things have really taken off this week.

Dennis, I'm glad that you can join us. I've always wanted to fish down there in Va. I have no excuse for not fishing it, I have relatives in Madison. I've been up on Skyline drive, and I'm interested in fishing the brookie streams in that area. I'll get there someday I'm sure.

Welcome Dennis! Nice to have a brookie fisherman. In Kansas, our version of the brookie is the longear sunfish!

I'd like to come down for the Va. fly fishing festival. My buddy Mikey (Ohiotuber) goes down for that. Hopefully I can accompany him one year.

I found this site yesterday evening. I really enjoyed reading the site. I have fly fished for about forty years, the last five or six years have been with 2 wt rods and less. I have several 4wt and up rods that have not been out of their cases in years. I have three rods I fish now, TFO Finesse 7'3" 2 wt with Lamson Velocity, TFO Pro 8' 2wt with Orvis BBS2, and Sage TXL 7'10" 0wt with Orvis BBS1. Of the three my favorite is the Finesse 2 wt. I am glad to find other ultralight fisherman around here. I belong to several other boards both fly and kayak but don't post much because of negative comments about light rods. Being from West Texas, there is not much water close to me. Having to drive 120 miles to get to water, I really enjoy the fishing when I go. To date the biggest fish I have caught on the Finesse 2 wt is a 6lb 12oz Black bass and a 6# 4oz carp. Both fish were landed in under 2 minutes and released to play another day. My favorite fish to play with is Bluegills. Great site. Johnny

Johnny, this is a site of kindred spirits! There is no degradation of light rods here, we embrace the light rod advantage!
By the way, Johnny, you are our 50th member! Welcome!
