I've seen several posts asking; "What is your favorite?" So, I thought I would show you all of my favorites at one time. From top to bottom:Orvis Superfine 3 weight rod with a Lamson Radius 1.5 reel. TFO Finesse Series 2 weight rod with a TFO 1 reel. Orvis Trident TLS 2 weight rod with a Orvis Large Arbor I reel. Orvis Superfine 1 weight rod with a Orvis BBS I reel. I might get the one weight this winter and take it down to catch wild trout in Missouri...

If I didn't already have the Superfine 1 wt. I would have definitely purchased the Finesse 1 wt., as a matter of fact I still plan to purchase one. I know Rick Pope, the owner of TFO, and at a event in Texas he was there with all of the TFO rods. He called me over because he knows I'm a warmwater kind of a guy and love to catch bluegill on the fly. He put the one weight (before it was on the market) in my hand to test cast. It took a $12 crow bar from Sears to get it out of my hands. As a matter of fact the photo below shows the jug head caressing the rod... what a dummy!

Uncle Larry, that's an impressive collection you have. As for the TFO 1wt, is it a medium action as well? I'd like to get a 1wt at some point, and that one is the most affordable right now.

Okay, I'm convinced. I have now progressed from *wanting* one to *needing* one.

Yes, I would call it medium action. The Finesse Series is my favorite TFO rod.

My local fly shop has the 2wt Finesse, but they refuse to stock the 1wt. I'd certainly like to try one.

Always cast before you buy.

You should have them order it, and tell them that you will pay for it, when you get the chance to cast the rod.

If you aren't willing to buy it, they won't order it in.

Then, I would personally find another shop. As much as you have heard me gripe about my local shop, all I have to do is have them order a rod and, bam it's there waiting for me to cast.

I don't have the luxury of switching shops. I'm not driving an hour or more to go to a new fly shop.

Online ordering is your friend, although, you can't cast before you buy...

Uncle Larry, I've only cast the rods in the Finesse series from the 7'9" 3wt on up. I wasn't too impressed with any of those. I've given the 2wt the wiggle test, but that certainly doesn't tell you how the rod casts. I need to go up to the shop and cast the 2wt one of these days.
