gzacckley, the Clear creek is a fun little rod, only fished it a few times, might go out this am for a couple of hours with it. Talking about grandsons. I have also got mine interested in Flyfishing. Few years back I purchased another Cabelas rod a 6'6 FT in a 2 weight. It is the perfect rod for him, He is seven and is really mastering fly casting with it. I put a length of wool on the tip and he walks around makes loops with it in the back yard, in fact the rod it now his. I take him out during the summer months in Oregon with me fishing for Sunfish and Trout. Like another seven year old their power of concentration is very limited so you got to amuse them most of the time. I take him to local lakes that are loaded with Warmouth sunfish and he catches his share of fish. Recently let him cast one of my bamboo rods a 7.5 for a 5 weight. Believe it or not he did fairly well with it. He definitely is going to be my fishing partner as he get older. Paul

Gene, grandkids are fun and games (most of the time), sometimes after I leave him I laugh all the way home. He is one piece of work. But, he is bent on learning how to flyfish.... Paul

I just saw one of these Cabela's 1-weights up for sale on this website

http://www.paradigmcustomrods.com/tackle-sale.php

the guy has some other nice tackle also, as you can see. I think it's a good selection at very reasonable prices.
