This morning early morning while most of you were still asleep I was on the prowl looking for something right at $100 on ebay to spend my Christmas gift card from my girls (pups) . Anyways on another forum I spied this nifty Fishpond Wading system and walla it was perfectly priced and made sense to me so I bought it . This has a sliding waist pack and is adjustable in many ways . Click here to see it in action . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiDha3NjzV8
I can see a can of bear spray on the opposite side as well as my 460 Rowland .
So whats the last thing you bought ?

I didn't buy anything specifically for fishing, but I did buy a large poly tarp and some adjustable tent poles so I can set up some shade for the campsite at the conclave in April. Does that count?

It surely wasn't today, but rather recently I bought some spectra line, a fly rod guide set, and a bobbin from Chinese vendors on eBay. It seems the stuff all got caught up in customs. Now I'm trying to untangle the mess involving the postal system, customs, and PayPal.

Bought two 1wt Maxcatch V-feather rods, and two 1wt fly lines. Buddy and I are going to gear up for June when the spring freshet finally is over on my home stream, and we can hammer some small fish on a small stream.

Son and I hit the Bass Pro shop yesterday to get rid of our birthday gift cards from my daughter. Gearing up for the striped bass run this spring. Got four colours of soft bait ribbed paddltail lures in the 5 to 6" size, some synthetic sand eels in some sort of juice, and lead jig heads in 3/8, 1/2 and 1 ounce. Oh, and a package of chartreuse marabou (cause after all, this IS a fly fishing page)

P-line Hydrofloat (30&50) from All Seasons Sports, a place I’ve never heard of until a product search.

Paperback version of “All Fisherman Are Liars” cuz I dig John’s work and wanted to remember what it’s like to read paper again. All the others, save for last two, are on old Nook color in e-book format.

Thanks for the invite, been long time since had one of my fly rods in my hand, since 2009 when my dad died, my best fishing buddy, lost the desire to fish. Am retiring this year so I figured I'd **** or get off the pot before my knees give out. Do decided to get back into fishing while I can.
BUCKET LIST #1:
UPDATE MY TACKLE:
splurged on a 2 wt. Outfit I always wanted to try.
Bought my favorite reel Alway wanted.
Mint Abel Tr Light 2wt reel with 2wt double taper line
Had a custom made 2wt. Rod to put it on but wanted to try something unique, nostalgic and different, found a very nice
"Fisher Original" Graphite 5' 9" 2wt.Fly Rod on eBay which should be a perfect match for the Abel Tr Light reel. Find out this spring.
See how it compares to my 1st original fly rod I bought when I was
A kid of 12 years old. 48 years ago. A Fenwick fiberglass FF605 6' 5WT System I Used for years for my ultralight trout fishing, still have to this day. With a hardy flyweight reel on it.

Fast Eddie,

That’s too bad about your Dad. Mine passed away along about 2009 too.

Anyway, that sounds like some nice UL gear that you’ve got. According to something said recently by Wheezeburnt, you could have a nice surprise with that Fenwick 605. Like if you try the Common Cents System to measure it, or just use the SWAG (Scientific Wild-Asked Guess) Method and put a 3-weight line on it, you may find out that it really is a 3-weight.

Welcome to the forum!
